Approved injection sites
Tirzepatide is injected subcutaneously (into the fat just under the skin). The labeled sites are:
- Abdomen — at least 2 inches (5 cm) away from the navel
- Front of the thigh
- Back of the upper arm (often easier with help)
Why rotation matters
Injecting the same spot repeatedly can cause lumps, irritation or changes in how the medication absorbs. Rotate sites each week. Our dose tracker automatically suggests the next site so you never reuse the same spot by accident.
Comfort tips
- Let refrigerated medication sit a minute to take the chill off.
- Clean the site and let it dry before injecting.
- Inject at the angle your clinician recommends and rotate weekly.
